The difference between takedowns and suppression

A takedown asks a platform or site to remove the source page. Suppression focuses on reducing how visible harmful or outdated results are.

Good privacy work often needs both. A removed page can still appear in search for a while, and some results require follow-up deindexing or cache cleanup.

The strongest approach is documented: link, date, platform, reason, action taken, response received, and follow-up date.
